Winter Camping 2

A view of the mountains from the highway. It always amazes me that we hike so high, so quickly.

Sam and Jesse on the way up. The trail was nice and wide most of the way.

Steve and Jesse stop to take a drink in the dry riverbed.

After about four miles the snow was much more prevalent.

Steve and Jesse traversing the snow. Only about 1/2 a mile to go.

Our destination was the base of the trees in the center of this photo.

Not long after we arrived the fog rolled in and brought with it some brisk air.

Thanks to Jesse we had a nice log to sit on around the fire.
A view of our camp. It was a nice flat spot and quite cozy.

Good Morning!

Unfortunately, we just missed the sunrise and didn't get to see any cool color on the rocks.

Steve hauled all the breakfast food up and then cooked it for us.

Yumm.

On the way back we all took a swig from the springs coming off the snow. Jesse decide
he needed to do some push-ups at the same time as he drank freely from the spring.
